We currently use CPT 99199 to bill for use of a minor procedure room.
Our office does remicade (infliximab), tysabri, and other drug infusions that can sometimes take 4 hours per day for 1 treatment.
We also use the 99199 code to cover a room charge for vasectomy procedures.
To cover some of the costs we bill a minor procedure room charge as cpt 99199 for each 15 min that the dedicated room is utalized with in our main clinic.
More often then not we find we are taking a writeoff on this code.
Is there another code or modifier that would be better?
