I am the billing manager of a large pediatric practice. We have had a couple pediatricians leave us recently to pursue other endeavors. We are in the process of hiring new providers to replace the ones who left but the search has proven to be long and slow. In the interim, we have contacted a temp agency and have a couple pediatricians coming to fill in for us until our new hires come. My question is how do I bill for these providers? They are not really locum tenens providesr as they are not filling in for someone out on an extended leave or anything so I don't feel like we should be billing that way. But if we are supposed to be credentialing them, they could possibly be gone before the credentialing process is complete. Can anyone help me with this? Give me some pointers on how to handle this?
