We do billing for a Nephrology practice and physician had the below scenario:
She had a pt on PD for dialysis that couldn't come into the office
But the PD patients must have a face-to-face visit
So Dr_______ talked to him over the phone for a good bit of time
Did write up about what happened on phone and detailed thing
_________ is wondering if this could be considered telehealth services?
And if she can bill that code?
She looked up telehelath over the internet and said that it had to be in a rural area?
Any ideas on proper billing for this scenario?
