Hi,
I have an orthopaedic surgeon that wants to bill for admitting a patient at our local hospital to swing bed nursing facility care for a pelvic fx. Then he wants to charge for each day he followed up with the patient in swingbed status and then discharged her on the 6th day.
I'm not sure what e/m codes to use for this, because this isn't something I have experience in. Not sure if this is even billable. I thought billing for swing bed services are for the hospital themselves to bill not an orhto doc. that was asked to consult this patient and f/u with patient until released.
