Does anyone have experience on how flu vaccines that are administered at a company ie Walmart can be billed to the patients medical insurance? I am looking at place of service 60 vs 18 and then what would be placed in box 32 on the 1500. Thanks!

You would want to use place of service 18 for workplace. 60 would not be appropriate as is defined as:

A location where providers administer pneumococcal pneumonia and influenza virus vaccinations and submit these services as electronic media claims, paper claims, or using the roster billing method. This generally takes place in a mass immunization setting, such as, a public health center, pharmacy, or mall but may include a physician office setting.

So if there is a dependent of the employee that wants to receive a flu vaccine they will need to go to the providers office as POS 18 indicates the person you are billing for is employed. Thank you for your feedback!
