I hope that someone can help me with this. Our physicians periodically use laborists from the hospital to deliver babies. There is one laborist that would like to assist our physicians with regular surgery outside of her laborist duties, just to keep her surgical skills sharp. She is not part of our office in anyway, but my physician wants me to bill for her.

Does anyone out there know of any way I can do this legally that I am not thinking of. I already told my phsician that I can not bill for her because she is not part of our office and under our tax ID #.

You cannot bill her as you indicated under you tax ID. If you want to pick up her business as a third party billet and bill under her tax ID that would be ok but why can she not do this as she bills for herself now, or does she not?
