I recently started working for a wound care center and when a patient comes in for a dressing change only, no visit with the Doctor, I have been instructed to bill a 99211. I'm not sure I agree with this, since the patient has no contact with a Doctor or the RN. They only have contact with an assistant to change the dressing.
Does anyone know if this is correct? I feel like it could be a form of fraud, but then I could just be overly cautious.
