If a patient is being sent over from a dermatology office requesting that we perform a Moh's closure and the surgeon has never seen the patient before, can we bill for a consultation code/ new patient visit. The doctor has to assess the patient before deciding was his operative plan is going to be. Is that considered part of the procedure or is it separately reimbursable?
