Wiki Billing/Coding for TeleHealth Visits

Hi All,

I could really use some help. I have two questions...
(1) I work for an obgyn clinic here in our area there is no specialist to care for an ob patient who requires care beyond what we can provide. We provide the telehealth service for our patients to do a video call with a specialist who is out of the area. The specialist office codes and bills for the telehealth visit as we do too. However the insurances are denying our telehealth claims saying its a non-covered charge. Is there a specific way we should be coding/billing our side of the telehealth visit?
(2) Also we have patients that come in for a telehealth visit who are not our patients so that they can visit for the provider who is out of the area.

If you are the originating site , then first you must meet the qualification for the originating site:
* a county outside of a Metropolitan Service area; OR
* A rural Health Professional Shortage area located in a rural census tract
and you use the Originating site fee Q3014
You do not bill any other code as the originating site, The distant site provider will bill the visit level with the 02 POS

Hi Debra, I have question regarding POS 15. I have a Chiropractor that has an office where he sees his patients, but he also take a mobile unit offsite to office buildings to treat patients. These patients also come into our office for treatment as well. Now when he goes offsite do I need to use POS 15 or do I use 11, because he has a home entity of POS 11 and it serving that entity?
