Our PCP office just hired a Phlebotomist, is it considered bundled when our doctor orders the patient to have blood work done and the patient gets it done that day in office? Or can we bill 36415 for venipunture? And would there be a modifier attached to it?
Thanks!

I don't remember where but this was discussed in another thread. But the gist was the reimbursement will be lower than the cost of the employee. And you probably will have more OSHA and health department guidelines/inspections to deal with making the whole thing quite the hassle. It is however a very nice service to offer your patients, especially for a patient population who require frequent lab draws.

Our MAs draw blood in our office and we bill the office visit with a 25 modifier and then the 36415 for the VP.
