Wiki Billing at time of service dme

Hello,

I have come across a question in our office. This would be an outpt setting. Our docs give dme to our pt prior to them having surgery (when he makes the decision for surgery) so they can take it with them to the surgery center. When would you bill for this and do you have any doc. to back your answer?

You would bill for the DME the day it was given to the patient in the office if that is where the pt was given the dme. Just like you bill for an office visit the day they were in the office.
