About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist with expertise in out-of-network billing for surgical assistants (LSAs, CSAs, PAs) to join our team onsite. This role involves claims processing, patient collections, insurance appeals, and reimbursement negotiations, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
This is a critical role where your knowledge of out-of-network billing, insurance policies, and patient payment processing will directly impact revenue and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Claims Processing & Billing: Submit out-of-network claims for surgical assistant services, ensuring accuracy in CPT/ coding, insurance verification, and claim follow-ups.
• Patient Collections & Billing Support: Contact patients for payments, set up payment plans, and answer billing-related questions professionally.
• Denials, Appeals, & Negotiations: Manage claim denials, submit appeals, and negotiate with insurance payers for optimal reimbursement.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all billing processes comply with payer guidelines and healthcare regulations and generate reports to track billing performance.

Qualifications

• procedures. (Out-of-network surgical assistant services billing experience is preferred but not required)
• Expertise in medical billing software, EHR systems, and electronic claims processing
• Strong communication skills – ability to clearly explain bills to patients and negotiate with payers
• Certified Biller (CPB/CPC) preferred but not required
• Must be able to work onsite daily – This is NOT a remote position

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
