Reports to: Regional Manager

Description
iRhythm Technologies is a medical device and clinical service company combining novel device and data analysis concepts together to create a new approach to cardiac rhythm monitoring. We are looking for a Billing Specialist whose focus will be to assist current and new iRhythm accounts with both commercial payers and Medicare reimbursement.
This key role requires knowledge and experience in medical billing/coding/insurance reimbursement as well as the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Further criteria includes knowledge in both CPT/APC coding and Medicare regulations. This position will work closely with the region?s Regional Manager and Territory Managers to drive sales through resolution of billing issues and support both iRhythm customers and the Territory Managers. This position is field based and requires 75% or more travel.
Responsibilities
? Resolve coding questions and complicated claim rejections/denials, identifying reasons for rejection.
? Work closely with the Payer Relations team to receive training, messaging and achieve desired results with quick solutions to customer needs.
? Make multiple in-person visits per day to existing and new accounts. This requires maintaining and driving new business, and providing value that will enhance iRhythm?s service.
? Provide assistance with reimbursement , insurance benefit investigations, prior authorization, and appeal requests; escalate for assistance to the Payer Relations team as needed.
? Act as a billing expert for both external and internal customers, including physician offices, Territory Managers, and other key stakeholders.
? Evaluate gathered information from the Payer Relations team and provide insights in a timely fashion to iRhythm?s external customers in order to help them understand payer changes that impact their business.
? Critically evaluate payer/healthcare information gathered from multiple sources (i.e. Payers websites, payer bulletins, social media updates, government announcements, other internal teams) provided by the Payer Relations team.
? Take ownership and accountability for helping drive sales through resolution of billing problems and provide correct information that satisfies the customer?s needs.
Requirements/Qualifications
? Associate degree or Bachelor?s degree (related experience accepted)
? 5-7 years of related billing and/or reimbursement experience
? Prefer field experience in medical sales or support position
? Strong written and verbal communication skills
? Proficient with ICD-9 and CPT coding
? Experience working with Medicare and commercial insurance denials and appeals
? Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
? Knowledge of medical terminology and reimbursement terminology specific to Cardiology
? Positive attitude and team player
? Ability to identify and problem solve quickly, collect data, establish facts and provide critical information to internal and external customers
? Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
