Good Morning,

I am trying to figure out the criteria for billing this CPT Code. I wanted to know if we did not provide the brace to the patient but have recommended bracing for the treatment of a lumbar vertebral body fracture. The MD's verbage is listed below. Is this enough to bill the code out?

"IMPRESSION revealed there are findings for a subacute compression fracture of L1. There were no findings to suggest retropulsion of fracture fragments or significant compromise to the thecal sac. No other specific abnormalities were appreciated. At this stage, my recommendation from his clinical exam is that there is mild tenderness in this area, I would like to get CT scan to the lumbar spine and follow up after this has completed. Recommended bracing and f/u xrays as well. I also discussed smoking cessation as well."

I appreciate any help! Thank you!
