Wiki biller - I have a question when you bill the vaccines

I have a question when you bill the vaccines for 0 to 18 for administration codes is it 90460 90461 because if you bill for the 90471 90472 insurances say that you cannot bill for 0 thru 18 only over 18 years so its kind of confusing can you please help i can give you an example

90472 x2 then they say you are not suppose to bill 90471 in the same date but if you see the cpt code book 90472 is an add on code for each cpt or is this wrong please advise

The way it has been explained to me, is 90460 & 90461 is WITH education provided by the physician. This needs to be clearly stated in the documentation. 90471 & 90472 is just the administration. However, if the patient is 18 years of age or older, you can not use 90460 whether there is education by the physician or not, as that code is specific to that age range. Hope that helps.
