How would you code for diseases that are bilateral such bilateral carpal tunnel, if there is no code for bilateral?

You just use the code for carpal tunnel and code it only once. ICD-10 CM has diagnosis codes that are for bilateral conditions but ICD-9 does not.

Code only carpal tunnel at one time, there is no bilateral in ICD codes.
