Hello: I have a patient whom had Bilateral Ligation of SF Junction. Dr. A did left leg
(37700-Lt)and Dr. B did right (37700-RT), they are in the same practice.

I am not sure if I need a modifier? If so not sure which one. Will Lt & Rt will be sufficient~

Thanks!

The CPT discrption says for bilateral report 37700 with modifier 50. However since there are two separate surgeons I would check with your payor to see if they wanted it reported 37700 with modifer 50 and 62 or if they want 37700-62 LT and 37700-62 RT
