Wiki Biceps Tenotomy

Some of our Dr's perform a biceps tenotomy via scope (amongst other shoulder procedures) and we use the unlisted 29999 to report the procedure. Most insurance companies are bundling it with everything.

Does anyone have the same problem and if so what did you do to get it paid?

what code are you using for your cross code? I have very few problems if any with bundling issues. My most frequently used cross code for this is 23405.

Yes. I use 23405 with cover letter explaining unlisted code and of coruse op-report. I'm now looking to put togther a package on bicpes tenotomy and it's benefits, especially if I can find an article on arthroscopic tenotomy.

Some of our providers are doing the same thing, and Medicare is denying them as inclusive to the RCR, but we are actually getting paid by BCBS and most of our work comp, auto, and commercial insurance carriers.
