WA State law states that if the minor is 13 years old and over, certain services are kept confidential and cannot be shared without the consent of the minor.
However, I'm having trouble finding information for when the child was 12 years old (they are now discharged) if records can be disclosed since at the time of those services, the parent still had full access to their chart. Parent is insisting that they should have access to the records when they were younger even though they are now at the age where consent is needed.
Anyone have experience with this and if so, what sources did you use for explaining this to a parent?
