I have been searching for an assessment billing code, I know theres one that pays a small fee, no more than $15 but I cannot find one. Our therapists does mini mental status assessments i.e depression screen, scared; on all clients, we bill 90837 for individual sessions & was just looking for an assessment code to include.

I have found G04443 Other brief intervention ; seems like its alcohol abuse only
& G0444 Other behavioral health screening, but billed annually

I guess I need to specify that it needs to be strictly Behavioral Health Fee; Medicaid as I have found 96127, but it is not a code reimbursable for our state.

Check CPT manual for beh.health assessment for provider and QHP staff CPT 96156-96159 - 96170 by the therapist or QHP on same day. They should describe the condition of mental health of pt and assigned a dx code. There are some checkoff exams in med record for depression, dementia, suicide, Etc can add in record. Also check CPT 96116-96127 . This can be done same day as EVL MGN service with another provider. Must have atleast 16 minutes of service and DO NOT report with CPT 90785-90899. .Also do not bill same time as cognitive testing or neuro psych testing. You can bill CPT 99401-99404 same time as eval mgt codes too. Add modifier 25 to office visit. Also add time in med record saying gave discussion on drinking, smoking diet on view CPT code 99406-99409 for so many minutes written in med record for day. If current sub abuse define type it is dx F10, F12, F17 and ways can help correct problem and what pt doing. Etc. They can add chronic problems of G47, M54,F60, F06 , F52, F45 G89, F32 F43, dx block R45, or Z63 if warranted.
