Wiki AWV Billing of ICD-10 Codes - Maximum number

I have heard previously that the AWV allows for an unlimited number of ICD-10 codes to be attached, which is in contrast to any other type of E/M encounter, in which the maximum number is 12 ICD-10 codes. I cannot locate anywhere whether this is true however. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks so much!

For Medicare there is a limit on the 836P electronic billing form of 12 conditions however, check with your MA Plan if they have a ASM (alternative submission process) for submitting more than 12 conditions per encounter claim. Keep in mind that conditions only need to be validated once per calendar year for risk adjustment . Conditions can be submitted during any face to face office visit or Audio /Video Telehealth visit. It is best if ALL conditions are validated in a AWV or Comprehensive Physical (note Traditional Medicare does not cover Comprehensive Physicals) . Regular office visits only include co existing conditions not ALL. Hope this helps.
