Aortic Valve Replacement - 33405
? There was large subannular and intraannular abscess starting approximately in the midpoint of the lt coronary cusp and extending two-thirds toward the noncoronary cusp. This area was very friable and was obviously areas of necrosis and infection. This was debrided extensively and then reconstructed with a patch of CorMatrix cardiovascular patch.

Can anyone give me the code for this?
I don't like to use unlisted 33999. Maybe just adding modifier 22 and send the operative note.

I would opt for the 22 over the unlisted AS LONG AS the physician has documented his extra time, and the extent of the procedure; WHY does it warrant a -22?
