Hello all!

I am working on an audit for a physician who is part of a teaching physician program. I have never done this before and I've been reading the CMS guidelines and I just want to double check on this.. They are billing the office visits under the resident's name- that's correct right? I can't seem to find anything to confirm or deny and this is something completely new to me. Any info would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

I forgot to add that there is a GC modifier on the office visit that is billed under the resident. Thanks!

Hello,

Verify that the "teaching physician statement" is included in the documentation. The visit should be billed under the teaching physician's name. The GC modifier is correct. That signifies that a resident was involved in the visit. Definitely check and double check that you are following Medicare guidelines on teaching physicians.
