Wiki Audiology Question

I am having trouble with coding of binaural hearing aids. I understand that binaural indicates both ears therefore I should only code one line for both hearing aids, but my employer is wanting me to bill this with a unit count of two. I think this would be fraud and do not want to do it, but am having a hard time finding documentation to support my standing. Any ideas??? All help appreciated....Rita J

The best way to look at binaural hearing aids is that it is like a pair of shoes. When you go to the store store you buy one pair of shoes not two individual shoes. The code for the binaural aid is essential one code for a pair of hearing aids. Hope this helps.
