i am new to ortho, if a dr does an aspiration on the knee what procedure code do i use?
if he does aspiration and injection into the knee is it procedure code 20610 only?

The code for aspiration of knee is 20610 (CPT description: Arthrocentesis, aspiration and/or injection.......). If he does both an aspiration and injection on the same joint, you will code 20610 once.

OK so no matter if it is aspiration only or aspiration with injection it is 20610
