Lidocaine, local anesthesia access site. The patient is ASA 3.
Visual inspection of the oro- and nasopharynx shows no potentially
occluding structures. There are no loose dentures.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN ASA???

THX IN ADVANCE

ASA is the Physical Status Modifier. It is explained in the beginning of the anesthesia section in the CPT book. If the patient is an emergency patient the P1-P5 modifier would be followed with an E . P6 would not be followed with an E. It's basically the complexity of the anesthesia service provided.
