Under fluoroscopic guidance, using a spinal needle, we localized the hip joint. We placed our trocar under fluoroscopic guidance into the right hip joint. We placed our full cannula just lateral to this as well. We copiously irrigated the hip joint with normal sale. We also took cultures before irrigation.

Diagnosis was right hip septic arthritis.

Looking to verify CPT code. An associate says 29862 but I am not sure.

That code is for arthroscopy which requires the use of a specialized scope producing an image on a monitor.
I believe you're looking for a code in the "Introduction or Removal" section of the CPT and can use a radiology code for the fluoro guidance.
