We have some physicians who are wanting to use arthrogram codes for injections such as steroids or visco (Supratz, Orthovisc, Synvisc, etc.). I recently found information directly from the AMA CPT Assistant that states the aspiration/injection code 20610 would be appropriate if the INTENT is to inject the patient with one of the before mention medications. Is there information anywhere else that discusses knees? Does everyone else agree and bill 20610 instead of code 27370? I need this information.
