Hello:
My surgeon did a CABG along with an aortotomy.. Here's what the op note states: An aortotomy was made just at the level of the line of Rindfleisc. Once the aortotomy was made. the aortic valve was inspected. It was deemed not to be stenotic in any fashion, however, there was a small bit of calcium at the level of the aortic annulus at the noncoronary cusp that was sniped off with a rongeur forcep. With this small calcium removed, the aorta was irrigated copiously and the aortotomy closed using running 4-0 Prolene suture.
This does not fit the standard of cpt codes 33400 - 33401 nor does is fit in with 33310-33315. Does anyone have another suggestion?
Thanks.
