If you do, do you own the equipment, or does your doctor just interpret the results and write a report of the findings? (so you would bill with the -26 modifier)

Do you bill for the date the pillcam was performed, or the date your physician read the results and did his/her report on the findings?

If you own the equipment, do you bill for the date the pillcam was performed, or do you bill with the date that the physician completes the service by reading the results and writing his/her report of the findings? (91110 with no modifier)

If you do not own the equipment you would bill the date the doctor read the report and signed off on it.

If you do own the equipment you would bill the date it was done and the "reading" is bundled into it.

Thanks, I thought so. But a patient, who is a "lawyer" was questioning the way his charges were billed.
