Wiki Anyone getting paid for Crutches, Surgical Boots, etc for Primary Care Doctors

I work for a primary/urgent care office and none of my crutches or surgical boots are being paid even with the NU modifier. What are you guys doing regarding the cost of this? Are you making the patient pay up front or just billing the patient after the insurance denies? Any insight for my Doctors would be great. Thanks
