I am changing careers and just completed my certification. I have my CPC-A, medical terminology, and basic anatomy through AAPC. I have the ICD-10-CM proficiency. I see a lot of postings but since I do not have healthcare office experience or on the job coding experience it seems like no one wants to give me a chance. I am a quick learner and hard worker. Anyone else have this issue? Any leads?

I also find that no one will give you a chance. It's like passing the board doesn't mean anything. All I can say is don't give up. We went thru all that schooling, passing that unreal hard exam, and we have to know a little something, lol.

Just know you are not alone. I don't understand either. How are you supposed to get experience if no one will give you a chance?:(
