Our office is reevaluating what codes we use when our surgeon does a lap band fill at the hospital under fluro. Currently we use 77002-26 and S2083 (depending on carrier). I feel that we could be billing more codes. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Note from surgeon:
Patient underwent fluoroscopic evaluation today. Hospital based equipment and technologic staff were utilized. The radiologist did not participate in any aspect of this procedure. An upper GI series was performed with ingestion of oral thinned barium while in the upright position. AP and oblique images were evaluated. Contrast progression down esophagus and into stomach was observed. Distention of the lower gastric pouch was not achieved nor was the duodenum evaluated. FINDINGS: The port was accessed under sterile technique with a Huber needle without difficulty. Fluoroscopy was used to visualize the port to facilitate access. Incremental adjustment was performed with sterile saline with observation of barium trasversal to obtain ideal restriction.
