Wiki Anxiety/ Depression codes not covered by Insurance

Some of the Pt doesnt hv mental health in their Insurance plan. Insurances say they take Anxiety/Depression as a mental health. I wanna know what other codes can be used besides these. (in the Primary Care Physician Clinic).

If the provider is treating Anxiety/Depression, that is what must be coded. To use "another" code would be fraudulent. The patient does not have this benefit, should they choose to obtain the service, they must pay out of pocket. Dont risk your certifcation, reputation and possibly your freedom!! If your provider is asking you to do this....walk away!!
 
I agree with Alana S. My concern is that you would even pose the question in the first place.
As certified coders we can only code what is documented not what will get a claim paid. Judy M
