I received a question from our OB department today regarding labs that they ordered on a pregnant patient's spouse. Apparently when they did labs on the patient, her blood came back positive for the anti c antigen. I just started assisting with OB questions so this is all new to me. They then ordered a type/screen for antigen ID for anti c. I called our blood bank and all they can tell me is that this is an antigen that attaches itself to RBCs. Has anyone run into this before. Any advice would be helpful.
