Wiki Anterior Labral Repair: 29999?

If a provider does a repair on an anterior labral tear, how do you code it. Documentation is as follows:

"A shaver was used to debride and to make a bleeding surface at the anterior labrum and then the anterior labrum was sutured twice with a OPUS suture passing system. Two holes were drilled in the anterior glenoid and the sutures were reduced."

I've always struggled with 29806 vs. 29999. Any documentation, resource, example, etc would be great.

29806 per coding Companion

For code 29806 it mentions that the repair can be made with sutures so I think your OK to use this code.

I did see that, but it also says that the capsule is advanced and attached to the labrum. I can't find any mention of the capsule in the documentation.

I was taught that it should be documented type 1, 2, 3, or 4 repair of SLAP lesion. 29807 is for type 2 or type 4. 29822 is for type 1 and type 3. My physician's document the operative report which type it is.
