Can someone help me with this question from a fellow coder who is not a member of this forum. Thanks so much!
Ques: When I (Dr. Apple) write an obs admission code it is the accepting physician who writes an order to change it to full admission. If I am writing a full admission code and the accepting physician writes an order to change it to a obs admission, then it seems to me that the responsibility to change the billing code belongs to the person writing the order.
Why am I being asked to change my original admission codes based on changes made through the accepting physician?
