Please help code an L5 laminotomy and an S1 laminotomy with L5-S1 discectomy. (Lumbar microendoscopic discectomy utilizing tubular retractor and fiberoptic illumination. This was not a percutaneous procedure.) The following is a part of the operative report.
L5 Laminotomy and then S1 laminotomy were performed. Partial medial facetectomy was performed. The ligamentum flavum was taken down. The dural sac and the nervee root were visualized. The S1 nerve root was mildly hemorrhagic due to pressure from the underlying disc herniatioin. The dural sac and the nerve root were gently retracted immediately. The disc herniation was identified. It was protruding into the spinal canal. The disc herniation was removed using a combination of pituitaries.
