I am not sure I have selected the correct category because I think this falls into several possible options. I have extensively researched this but want to put it out there to see if I'm just missing the important detail others may know.

The following statement appears on a provider education presentation for anesthesia and I want to find the origin of it to support or debunk it's credibility. Has anyone ever seen a statement similar to the following:

"If another provider performs the pre-operative evaluation and assigns the plan of anesthesia, the time spent in re-evaluation and/or preparing the patient for induction by the provider who will handle the case is billable."

All signs point to this falling into the same category as reviewing the patient records prior to induction, which is included in the base unit and not billable based on specific activity or as additional time. However, anyone with black and white printed proof to the contrary would be a welcome reply!
