The ancillary nurse gives a testosterone injection, BCG or TNS. Can the Nurse practitioner "supervise" her doing these things? I know that a Mid-Level's can not "supervise" a diagnostic test (they can perform it but they cannot supervise it) but I'm not sure about injections, BCG or TNS. There is no doctor in the office only a Mid-Level. Can I bill these injections/treatments under the Mid-Level? Thanks!

It is my understanding that mid-levels cannot be supervising, period. When we do these in our office we always have an "on-call" doctor who is considered the supervising physician ; however he/she must be present in the office.
