I am on a roll!! - I have another problem - anal paps - Anyone getting paid on them???

We only collect the sample and send it out to the lab. The closest code I have is 99000 but it is being denied. I was told that it should be part of the E/M but my docs insist that they know that other docs get paid for it and we should as well.

Any thoughts?? Anyone???

I think 88160 is appropriate for an anal PAP for the lab test. If you are sending the test out, and they bill for their own lab than you would only charge the 99000 and and E&M.
