Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has billed for the application of Aldara or Zyclara on actinic keratoses with CPT 17000-17004? The CPT manual includes application of "chemotherapy agents" in the description for the pre-malignant destruction codes. My understanding is that these medicines are generally rx'd and patient applies them at home, so there would be no procedure code billed? (just the office visit)
I have a provider that billed 17000 for application of Zyclara in office, I'm thinking even if the provider applies the first tx in the office it would still be inclusive of the office visit? Any further insight would be appreciated!
Thank you in advance,
Mallory, CPC, CPCD
