Wiki aftercare diagnosis code (if any) for Hemi arthroplasty

A provider posed this question to me so I thought what better place to ask than my fellow coders who specialize in Ortho.

Provider question: Patient received a Hemi-Arthroplasty (pinning only). What code should we use since it is not a Total Repair?

Any takers?????

Aftercare ?

Have you looked at V54.09, if in fact this was only for pinning. Or if this was for an a hemi-arthroplasty, look at V54.81. Use additional codes to identify joint replacement site (V43.60 - V43.69)
