Good evening,

I am new to pain management and have been given denials for the above codes stating there are bundled into anesthesia and/or need a modifier. My previous colleagues have appealed indicating that the provider was not acting as an anesthesologist but as a pain management physician and hence should be paid separately. Any further recommendations.
Its part of a group practice consisting of anesthesiologists and pain medicine md's.
They are each billing their component of the procedure under different npi's.

Did you ever get a reply on this? I'm noticing a trend as well.
