When a medical assistant gives an injection, this is the purpose of the visit, does the provider need to sign the chart? Medical assistant, NP, PA, would there be different requirements compared to who administers the injection?
Speaking from an outpatient physician-based setting: The provider should have signed the medication order. They do not need to sign the medication administration record.
