So if we are doing active treatment for a meniscal tear we put the A on the diag code for the initial encounter , they come back and now need surgery should we continue to use the A on the end of the diagnosis code and also on the diag code for the surgery, they should then be in the healing phase is the way I understand it.
I am having trouble understanding when they should move from active treatment to subsequent treatment on the meniscal tears. Fractures are pretty easy since we fix them and then they usually go to the healing phase.
