Hello,
Can anyone tell me what is considered "Active Treatment"?
In ICD 10 - Initial Encounter - A is used while the patient is receiving active treatment and D - is used after the patient has received active treatment and is receiving routine care for a condition during the healing or recovery period.
Does this mean that the physician has to do something to that injury like inject it or dress a wound etc. Is ordering a brace or having the patient wear a walking boot considered active treatment?
Any help is very much appreciated.
Thank you,
LLR
