Hi everyone,
I need a bit of guidance regarding pricing for ABN forms. We are looking at purchasing rapid Covid tests (CPT 87426) at a cost of $39/test (our cost to purchase). We are an internal medicine office.
I've done some reading and it looks like reimbursement info is not yet available for Medicare (we're checking with a couple of our other HMO payers).
So, my question is if a patient wants the test, regardless of whether their insurance will pay for it or not and we have them sign the ABN prior, how do we set the cost? Am I allowed to go over our cost of $39 and if so, by how much? Is there a percentage?
