Hello,
We have a physical therapist who is going on maternity leave and we are going to bring in a temp to cover this. Dose anyone know is there a way to bill locum for therapist they way you can for physicians? I would rather not go through the whole credentialing process for a person who is only going to be with us 12 weeks.

You will need to check with each of your insurance carriers. They will have different policies. I had a similar issue with an audiologist who went to Europe for three weeks. Medicare advised that we could bill locum tenens just as we would for a physician locum tenens, up to 90 days. Other carriers we more lenient. Definitely check with your provider service representatives and get it in writing.
