what would be the guideline to follow for billing for a pt/inr check or a blood pressure check by the RN in our office? and is 99211 the correct code to use

thank you

A PT/INR is billed as a blood collection and the lab code if you do the lab in house, a blood pressure check is coded as a 99211. Rule of thumb is, if a CPT code exists for the service rendered by ancillary staff(RN) then you use that CPT code and not the 99211. Also the provider must be in the office suite area at the time the patient is being seen.
